In the Tulips

It was the last day of BJ's spring break so we decided to take a road trip and head north to the Tulip Festival in Mount Vernon. On the way up it was raining and pretty dark and dismal. We thought it was going to be a quick trip and we'd be heading home soaked. Luckily, it didn't rain at all when we got to the fields, the sky's were pretty gray and the wind was a tad blustery. Other than that the boys had a great time running around the fields with me and my camera in tow.

We were just about done looking around at the last field and Brennen decided to try and jump a puddle of Mud, as you can tell by the picture, he didn't quite make it!

Despite Brennen falling in the mud and being unhappy and cold for a while at the end, We had a great time. Check out the rest of our pics from the Day

Easter 2007

Still recovering from all of the Egg Hunts from the day before, we decided just to hang out at home and spend Easter with the family. The boys woke up to the traditional Easter Baskets and then headed outside for yet another (much smaller) egg hunt in the backyard.

Later on, Uncle Mimmy (Timmy) & PJ came over and played a little badmitton and kept the boys entertained. Uncle Timmy brought over his dog and Brennen was in Heaven!

Check out the rest of our Easter Pictures here.

Important Egg Hunting Traditions

It's a tradition ... spring comes & Easter Egg hunts are scoped out & planned. A good friend, Beth, and I have been doing this for about 8 years now. Her oldest, Brandon, is only 2 months older than BJ and we've been taking the boys out since they were about 14 months old. At the beginning we did one egg hunt and the day was complete. As the years went by, we added more egg hunts to the "tradition". Along the way, we added her son, Colton who is now 5, and Brennen. This was really Brennen's first year getting into the whole Egg hunting spirit. And unfortunately for Brandon & B they're nearing the end of their egg hunting days.

We missed out last year, but vowed to hit it again this year and hunt more eggs than ever before. This year we took the boys to four Egg Hunts from Bothell to Shoreline! It was our most ever, we thought we topped out at three! By the end of the day, I know Brennen was exhausted as were the parents. The three older boys could've continued, I'm almost certain. This is one tradition we'll continue as long as we possibly can. It'll be interesting to see just how long B & Brandon (both pretty tall guys) can be 10! View all of our pics of the Day

The Calm Before the Storm

We were lucky enough to be able to get out & enjoy the dry weather a bit before the storm rolled over the Pacific Northwest. We headed out to the Zoo and then took Brennen & Daddy to see the Fremont Troll, which they hadn't seen before. At the Zoo Brennen was very excited about the Penguins and Arctic foxes (Although I think he was excited about the foxes 'cause they were eating, which is one of Brennen's all-time favorite things to do). Brennen & Li'l B also had a chance to feed the birds in one of the exhibits, they both loved it. Although you definitely had to watch where you were standing!

Brennen wasn't too terribly excited about the troll ... it is a pretty scary thing. You can tell from the pics just how big this thing is! If you're in the Fremont area, get down there & check it out, you'll be amazed & maybe a little well, disturbed. Here are a few more pics from our Day.
